I think they are related ...

Mylie and Blake's day old pictures. I definitely think they are siblings!

Tag, I'm it!

My cousin Katie "tagged" me with questions about myself. Here I go....

10 years ago today: I was in my last semester of college at U of I and was having the best time of my life up until that point. I had such great fun friends and every day was an adventure. In fact, I remember telling my Dad that I couldn't wait for graduation because school was really starting to interfere with my social life! It was such a good time of my life, I was really figuring out some things about life and about myself.

5 things on my to-do list today:
1. Help Mylie make a Valentine for Jeff.
2. Feed and snuggle Blakey many, many times.
3. Go out to lunch for Valentine's Day with Jeff, Mylie and Blake. Our first real outing since the baby was born.
4. Wal-Mart. How have we seriously gone through almost 5 packages of wipes already?
5. This one has been on my to-do list for months ... clean and organize the playroom.

Things I enjoy doing: spending time with Jeff, reading with Mylie, doing scrapbook projects with Mylie, snuggling Blake, traveling, afternoon drives with big gulps, scrapbooking (without Mylie, lol), reading, my job, spending time with my friends, talking to my sisters on the phone and hanging out with my family.

What would you do if you were suddenly a billionaire? Jump for joy! Buy a bigger house, buy Jeff the pickup he has been dreaming about, set up college accounts for Mylie, Blake, Darcy, Max and Eliza (and future nieces and nephews), help our family members with their needs, lots of traveling including a kid-less cruise for Jeff and I and a big Disneyland trip for all of us!

3 bad habits (phew I only have to list 3):
1. Spending too much time on the computer.
2. Eating out too much (though doing much better on this one).
3. Not keeping up with the housekeeping (sorry Mom).

5 places I have lived: Star, Boise, Moscow, Rexburg, Idaho Falls

5 jobs I have had:
1. Director of the Third District Youth Court program
2 Adjunct Faculty at Boise State
3. Juvenile Probation/Parole Officer
4. Furniture saleswoman extraordinaire
5. Working at a day care center
The most difficult, but most rewarding job I have had is being a mom! These kiddos are more demanding than any boss I have ever had!

OK, I am passing on the fun: Sarah, Court and Aunt Karyn ... you guys are offially tagged! Can't wait to read your answers.

Something I've noticed ...

It seems like Mylie has grown at least a foot since we brought Blake home from the hospital. Even though I have told her that she is my big girl for a long time, she really is now. She climbed up in my lap to snuggle the other night after I had been holding Blake. Wow, I couldn't believe it! How does that happen overnight? How did my first baby grow up?

This might get sappy ...

Yesterday was Jeff and I's 6 year anniversary. When you have a 6 day old baby, there isn't a lot of romance planned for the day. My parents were here to see the baby and we just hung out at home all day, which was fine with us. But I don't need a romantic day to be reminded of how much I love Jeff and how lucky I am to be married to him. In fact this last week has been a perfect reminder of those things. He has waited on me hand and foot since I have been home from the hospital, I don't even think I have made myself a meal. When Blake wakes up to nurse in the night, Jeff rocks him back to sleep afterwards so I can go back to sleep. He is off work for two weeks now and then two more weeks when I go back to work. I am so lucky that he gets the chance to take the time off of work, and I'm so glad that he wants to!

I could go on and on about this man. He is an amazing father! He and Mylie are best buds, they love to do everything together. He has such patience with her and with me. Everything in our marriage and in our home is a partnership. In fact, Jeff does more than his fair share when it comes to things like dishes and cooking and laundry. He is truly my best friend. When Courtney got married last year, I told her that being married was like having a sleepover with your best friend every night. That is so true. There is no one I would rather talk to or hang out with than him. I know I am so lucky and so blessed!

Does it get any better than this?

I don't think so. I feel very blessed!

Drumroll please....

He's here! (And I am typing one-handed.) Blake Jeffrey Breach was born Sunday, February 3rd at 5:52 p.m. He weighed in at 9 pounds and 22.75 inches long. He is such a sweet boy! We got home from the hospital earlier today. We are both doing good, just tired. He is really mellow so far and an awesome eater. Grandma and Grandpa brought Mylie to the hospital about 2 hours after Blake was born. She is doing a great job at being a big sister, she is very gentle with him. She keeps telling us "Now there are 4 in our family!" We are all pretty happy!!

A myriad of thoughts ...

My brain has been swimming with thoughts all day today. I am going to see if I can get them all out, I think they are things I may want to remember.

**I spent the morning watching President Hinckley's funeral. I have been trying to been trying to put my thoughts about his death into words all week, but haven't been able to. I sat down as the broadcast began and they showed the stage of the conference center with an empty seat between President Monson and President Eyring and my tears began and continued for the next two hours. Afterwards I said to Jeff that it amazing that someone who you have never personally met can have such a profound influence upon your life. Listening to the remarks today I thought about how President Hinckley was sustained as the Prophet in 1996. I was in my last year at Ricks College. I stopped and thought about the 13 years that he was Prophet and the last 13 years of my life. During that time I graduated from Ricks, went on to U of I, graduated from college, moved to Boise, started my career, attended and completed graduate school, met and married Jeff and started my own family. I wonder if there will ever be a period of my life where I will make so many important decisions, as I have these last 13 years. And as I was pondering and praying about each of these things, President Hinckley was the Prophet. He was the one whose guiding words inspired me during conference talks, whose statements of "Stand a little taller" and "Try a little harder to be a little better" have influenced me. My heart is full today, but not just of sadness. I feel so blessed to have lived during this time, to have been privy to his counsel. I am reminded how grateful I am to know that there is a true and living Prophet of the Lord on this earth.

**Today could very well be the last day that I am ever pregnant. I don't know if Jeff and I will have more children after this baby and it is a strange feeling. Believe me, I am ready for this baby to be born and ready to not be pregnant anymore. But there is something so special about it. Being the only one to experience each of those little kicks and the wiggling. Knowing that there is a little person growing inside of you. It is amazing and a miracle and I am so glad I have been able to experience it!

**I miss Mylie today! Last night I was having very consistent contractions about 5 minutes apart. We decided that better safe than sorry and took Mylie to Jeff's parents. She was so excited on the 45 minute car ride and when we got there. Grandma had set up the air bed in the living room and she and Mylie were going to have a girl party sleepover on it. Grandpa had all planned to take her to McDonalds today. She took her suitcase and sleeping bag and was ready. I kept giving her hugs and hugs but she was so happy to be there, no tears at all! My contractions continued after we left and were even getting stronger. We decided to go home and wait until they got a bit closer together and then head to the hospital. We got home and I was really tired so I figured I'd lay down for a bit. Next thing I know it was 9:00 this morning and I was feeling fine. Silly baby! Since I am being induced tomorrow morning there wasn't much sense in going and getting Mylie for a few hours ... so it was a strange day without her. We called her this morning and she told me all about sleeping on the big bed with Grandma and having cereal for breakfast. I started to ask her more questions and she told me, "Momma, I'm playing cars with Grandpa, I have to go!" It makes me happy that she is having a fun time there. Jeff and I have just had leisurely day. We went to lunch this afternoon and did some laundry this afternoon. Assuming I don't go into labor in the next few hours I am sure we will be watching the pay-per-view UFC fight tonight.

**Tomorrow is the big day! I wasn't induced with Mylie, so it is strange knowing that tomorrow for sure Blakey will be here. There is something about snuggling a newborn, so fresh from Heaven, I am excited. I am really excited to introduce Mylie to Blake tomorrow too and watch as their friendship begins. One of the greatest blessings in my life is my friendship with my siblings and I am so excited for Mylie and Blake to have that. 7:00 a.m. is when we are to report to the hospital, nice and early (and of course it is supposed to snow all night!) I am sure my blog will be flooded with pictures in the next few weeks. Jeff s taking two weeks off now and two weeks off in March when I go back to work. I am really excited for the next few weeks of family time.
