Just in case you needed more proof that Mylie is Craig's granddaughter ...

Today we are at the mall and as we are walking along we pass a Pronto Pups store (which sells corndogs). I can't think of anytime that Mylie has been there or would even know what it is. Yet, as we pass it, she stops, points and says, "Mom, that looks like Heaven!"

Everything looks better

when the sun is shining! It is supposed to be 60 tomorrow. Ben called this morning and they are coming tomorrow morning instead of tomorrow night. We have a fun filled afternoon at the park planned with all the cousins. Mylie can't wait to see Darcy and Max and Eliza and she can't wait to show off baby Blake. Today I told her I was going to Costco to order the cake for Sunday. I asked her what it should say and she said it should say "I love Max!" Cute!

If I weren't so tired ...

it would have been absolutely adorable when I woke up this morning with Blake snuggled on one side of me and Mylie "spooning" me on the other side. However, Jeff worked last night and both kids decided it would be fun to be up together from 1:30 until 4:30. Otherwise it would have been cute!

Bippity Boppity Boo!

Indulge me for a moment. Last night I was fantisizing that I had a fairy godmother for just one day this week. If I did I would have her ... figure out a place to put everything from the office/extra room so we can turn it into Mylie's room; box up old books and take them to the library to be donated; call and rent a storage unit and then take everything there; take all the work things (extra printer, files, books, bookcase) to my office and carry them up the flight of stairs; clean the walls and baseboards and then paint the room purple; take apart Mylie's bed to move it into her new room; clean all the carpets downstairs; clean the kitchen that not only a week ago was spotless; make a trip to Costco; take my car in for an oil change and alignment; find a new hairdresser and make a much needed appointment; make the piles of laundry magically disappear (hopefully folded into the drawers); and grant me two more weeks of maternity leave. Sigh. OK, back to work.

It's been a long 10 days ...

since my last post. Handling two kids was pretty easy for the first couple weeks, until Jeff went back to work! It got a little tougher then. He is so much help at home, I really miss him when he is at work. He works the night shift 7p-7a, but basically he leaves at 5:45 and gets home around 8, goes to bed, gets up, works out and showers and we see him (if we are home) for only about 2 hours a day. We certainly look forward to his days off. But we are doing OK and figuring things out, even though it will all change again when I go back to work next week. I am tired just thinking about it! But here are some pictures of the last week or so ...

Mylie and Blake getting ready for bed. She is still so sweet and nice with him and loves to hold him. She is very careful also. In fact, tonight she was holding one of her dolls and I noticed how she was supporting its neck. What a good learner! Yesterday I came down the stairs and she is sitting in the chair with my Boppy pillow on her lap, her shirt pulled up and was "feeding" her doll! What a hoot. She told me she didn't have to put a blanket on her chest because we are at home and that is OK.
This is my Mr. Serious baby. Sometimes when he is looking at something he crinkles up his forehead like he is so deep in thought. He is such a good baby. Only crying if he is really hungry. He loves to cuddle, which is good, because I have a hard time putting him down he is such a snugler. He is sleeping great at night, doing 3-4 hours stretches. Who knew 3 hours of sleep is heaven?

Jeff and Mylie at Drake's birthday party yesterday. Alicia goes all out for the party and the kids loved the jumpy house. Apparently Jeff did too from the looks of the picture. Mylie got this new sweater last week but had been saving it all week to wear to Drake's party. The two of them are such good buddies. I don't think she'll know what to do with herself this fall when he starts Kindergarten.

Next Sunday we are blessing Blake. We are excited to have our family here for that ... especially for Ben and Holli and the kids and Papa Hammond to see Blake for the first time. We decided this week to do a project at home which includes clearing out the office/everything room and painting it for Mylie's big girl room. We had planned for the kids to share a room, but after some Mylie shenanegans resulting in a trip to the doctor, we have decided it is probably best (safest) for Blake to be in his own room (perhaps with a lock!) So while I am excited for the end result, I am wishing that we wouldn't have picked a time right before company and with Jeff back at work to do this. Oh well.

Tag, I'm it!

My cousin Katie "tagged" me with questions about myself. Here I go....

10 years ago today: I was in my last semester of college at U of I and was having the best time of my life up until that point. I had such great fun friends and every day was an adventure. In fact, I remember telling my Dad that I couldn't wait for graduation because school was really starting to interfere with my social life! It was such a good time of my life, I was really figuring out some things about life and about myself.

5 things on my to-do list today:
1. Help Mylie make a Valentine for Jeff.
2. Feed and snuggle Blakey many, many times.
3. Go out to lunch for Valentine's Day with Jeff, Mylie and Blake. Our first real outing since the baby was born.
4. Wal-Mart. How have we seriously gone through almost 5 packages of wipes already?
5. This one has been on my to-do list for months ... clean and organize the playroom.

Things I enjoy doing: spending time with Jeff, reading with Mylie, doing scrapbook projects with Mylie, snuggling Blake, traveling, afternoon drives with big gulps, scrapbooking (without Mylie, lol), reading, my job, spending time with my friends, talking to my sisters on the phone and hanging out with my family.

What would you do if you were suddenly a billionaire? Jump for joy! Buy a bigger house, buy Jeff the pickup he has been dreaming about, set up college accounts for Mylie, Blake, Darcy, Max and Eliza (and future nieces and nephews), help our family members with their needs, lots of traveling including a kid-less cruise for Jeff and I and a big Disneyland trip for all of us!

3 bad habits (phew I only have to list 3):
1. Spending too much time on the computer.
2. Eating out too much (though doing much better on this one).
3. Not keeping up with the housekeeping (sorry Mom).

The most difficult, but most rewarding job I have had is being a mom! These kiddos are more demanding than any boss I have ever had!
