Friday afternoon

Friday, after shopping and naps, we decided to just hang out and play in Mylie's room. Well after Blake decided to injure himself AGAIN. Sigh, this one hurts my heart and I'm not even sure how he did it.
We braved WalMart on Friday afternoon (and it was not that busy) because their kid's table and chairs were on sale. Mylie had some birthday money from her Papa Jack and so she got this Tinkerbell table and chairs for her room. So cute! She promptly had a tea party.
Awwww, these two are sure little buddies.
"Mom, I know these are girl toys ..."
"... but they sure are fun!"

I'm so proud of Mylie, she has done an awesome job of keeping her room clean since her birthday. She loves to have Blake come in and play with her. We got her a CD player for her room for her birthday and she loves to dance and and sing. Of course, I may have mentioned that if Santa sees her room messy he won't bring her any new toys for Christmas, I guess that could have something to do with it.

She's a rockstar.

Princess Mylie

Mylie was so excited this morning when she woke up and found this on her bedroom door. In fact at 6:30 am I hear, "Mom! There's princesses on my door!!"

That was my present to myself yesterday when the kids and I went shopping. I have a cricut machine (which is an electronic die cutting machine) and Michael's craft store had their cartridges on MAJOR sale. (Like they are regular prices $89 and they were on sale for $29 - yikes!) This one is called Paper Doll Dress Up and has so many absolutely adorable things on it. I think Mylie and I are going to have lots of fun! {Sidenote, the cricut machine is awesome, I have 2, this big one and the regular sizes one. I am going to sell the regular sized one, if anyone is interested let me know.}

I still haven't decorated the walls in Mylie's room (it's been painted since May). I had this idea I was going to get some canvases and decorate them to hang over her bed. After getting this cartridge I decided we would make some princess scenes and put them on canvases. One of the craft stores here had their canvases 50% off, so Mylie and I went last night. We had been to 3 stores earlier in the day (Michaels, Target and WalMart) and hadn't really had to wait in line, but at Craft Warehouse we had to wait in line at least 25 minutes, ugh. I swear Mylie can't help herself, she just has to touch everything. So after about the 238,479 time that I had told her to please not touch, we are in line and there is this tall (like 5 foot) display of photo boxes ... guess whose kid knocked it over? Nice. At least it wasn't something glass she knocked over.

Jeff is going to the movies with his Dad today and I'm hoping I can time Blake's nap and Mylie and I are going to have arts and crap time. Mylie thinks Blake needs a prince on his door.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a lovely Thanksgiving this year. We almost always go to Idaho Falls, but decided to stay here this year and it was a wonderful day. Jeff's parents joined us and I had a lot of fun making a big feast. I should have gotten a picture of my table ... when I got my Masters degree my Grandma Hammond gave me her white dishes (my sisters/cousins know which ones I'm talking about) ... so it was super fun to break out the nice dishes and set a beautiful table. Mylie wrote placecards for everyone, I'm so proud of her. Blake absolutely enjoyed mashed potatoes, turkey and stuffing. My favorite may have been this apple crumble. I found the recipe on Food Network and then tweaked it a bit to make it a carmel apple crumble. Delish!
I'm grateful for many things this year, but these two may top the list.
{Don't mind Blake's head - he and the barstool got into it and the barstool won.}

Bay-Bay

Bay-Bay is what Mylie decided Bailey's new nickname was when she was here to visit the weekend before last (yes, I am a slacker poster). We had a super fun time and Miss Mylie was pretty much attached to Bailey's hip the whole time. We shopped, then shopped some more (Bailey is extremely talented in this area). We even had a yummy lunch at Olive Garden. It was such a fun girl's weekend.

In this picture Mylie and Bailey had fallen asleep on the couch watching a Christmas movie together one night. As Mylie was half asleep she hugged Bailey and said, "I'm never going to let you go!" So cute. We did arts & crafts one night, or as Mylie calls it, "arts and crap," and Bailey watched the kids one night and Jeff and I went to Mama Mia.

Have I mentioned that I love my sisters and that I miss them ... a lot. Only 29 days until I see them both!! Yipee!

My car was nearly on empty tonight so I stopped to fill up. $16.89. Yipee!

Meanest. Mom. Ever.

This morning Mylie was throwing a fit. I got out my camera phone and took a picture. She stopped and asked me what I was doing. I told her I was texting Santa. Oh my. She lost it. "No Mom, don't text Santa! Please, don't text Santa. Please text him back. Tell him I'm on the good list."

I had to go upstairs because I was laughing so hard. I love this time of year {insert evil laugh}.
